The purpose of PLMCAST is to generate UDP multicast traffic, primarily
for stress testing of switches, especially those that support IGMP
multicast subscription handling. One instance is used as the
“generator” of the multicast traffic, and one or more client systems
can optionally “tune in” to the multicast data stream.
